Millet is a very versatile ancient grain with a mild flavour and a crunchy texture. Millet has been first farmed more than a thousand years ago and was regarded as a sacred crop in ancient China. In Italy it was widely used at the time of Romans as well as the early Middle Age when it was considered as an excellent subsitute for meat. Our millet is grown in northern Italy on the foothhills of the Alps.
Use Fontana Formiello Millet for breakfast as a porridge, in casseroles, stews and pilafs. Pop it up like popcorn or toss in salads.
